Interview Preparation to Get the Job You Need

You don’t need me to tell you that getting a job these days is very difficult, there’s probably more competition out there than ever before. If you are qualified for the job you are seeking then the only thing that will stop you getting it, is the dreaded interview. Depending on how well you do will decide on whether the interviewer gives the job to you or one of your competitors.

Here’s the key to getting hired: avoid the mistakes most applicants make and get prepared better than them.

With that in mind here are a few tips for interview preparation to get the job you need.

· Learn as much about the company as possible, interviewers love it when it is evident that the applicant has obviously read up on the company and can show it by asking relevant well thought out questions at appropriate times. Many facts and figures can be obtained from the company’s web site.

· You should create a portfolio before the interview with a few copies of your resume and cover letter and any other material that would be appropriate to hand out to those people who you speak to.

· A very common interview question asked is for you to provide examples of past successes, so it is very helpful and less stressful if you already have one or two in mind that you can confidently discuss with the interviewer.

Be well groomed and smartly dressed not only will you impress the company personnel but you will feel more confident and more at ease.
