Is it your first time for a job interview? Feeling quite nervous about it? Well you don’t actually have to because if you do, you will not be able to concentrate well on your interview. Here are some tips to follow which may help you to be prepared enough for your job interview.

1. Do some research about the job

Find out as much as you can about the company or the organization. List the names of officers, department heads and managers so you can identify to whom you should send your resume.

2. Be on time

It is the best way to start your interview right. Not only do employers not appreciate waiting for job applicants, but they will also think you are not careful about being on time for work or meeting deadlines. Remember first impression does matter, so don’t let your employers have a bad impression on you by not being on time.

3. Wear appropriate clothes

Dress neatly and in a style appropriate for the job you are seeking.

4. Put your best foot forward

Remember one of the most important reasons for the interview is to show that you have the ability to do the job. Impress your employers by your witty answers and by being positive without being boastful though. Be courteous, alert and attentive all throughout the interview.

5. Ask questions

The interview is a two way process. Interviewers will more likely appreciate it if you will ask questions pertaining to the job you are applying for and it simply shows that you are really interested to be part of their company.

6. Write a “thank you” letter

Write a letter thanking the person or people you spoke to at the interview. You may also include in your letter clarifications about something during your interview.

There are plenty of resources that can give you an abundance of information about the proper ways to conduct a job interview. If you are someone who is looking for a job and have gotten past the initial hiring routine and are going to be going to your interview soon, here are a few things that you should know when doing an interview. If you follow some of these basic steps, you are almost guaranteed success in landing that job.
While there are many aspects to getting ready for an interview, there are three basics. These are Preparedness, Presentation, and Punctuality. They go hand in hand working together to make you stand out from the other potential employees.
The first place we will start is being prepared for the interview. If you don’t know already, you should find out all you can about the company or business you are interviewing for. If you have a specific position in mind, then you should have knowledge and experience. You also need to have a detailed resume on hand, what specialized education like degrees, certificates, and any other pertinent information. You should also be prepared to go to work immediately, which is where presentation comes in.
Presentation is something that employers look at right away. You have to be dressed for the interview, but not too flashy, and come ready to begin work right away if called upon. That means clean clothes that are appropriate for the business. If you are interviewing for a corporate job, jeans and a tee shirt are not going to cut it. Having formal business attire clean and pressed is appropriate for this situation. You should be clean shaven with groomed hair and showered. Women should also have a nice business suit, or suitable alternative. Their hair should be styled, but not too extravagant. They should wear make up that accents their features but doesn’t look painted on.
Punctuality, while third on this list, is just as important. You should be on time, every time, and not be late, even by a few minutes. It’s better to be early, but not too early, you want to be and look fresh for your interview. No employer is going to hire someone who is late for their interview, unless you got into an accident, or had some kind of dire emergency.
There are other things to keep in mind as well. Look the person in the eye. Be straight forward with your answers, and don’t try to make yourself out to be someone you’re not. You don’t have to brag about your accomplishments; in fact it is better to be a little modest. Don’t interrupt the interviewer, let them lead the questions. Be friendly, and put forth a good attitude. Know what position you want, and why you are qualified for the job. Be ready to answer the questions, why should we hire you, and tell me about yourself, these are questions you should not only expect, but be prepared for. Be relaxed but not bored, and act like you enjoy being there.

As far as I’m concerned, the best way to improve your interview skills, especially if you find you get very nervous and tongue-tied, is to simply go on more job interviews. If it’s really bad, start with jobs you wouldn’t take in a million years. That way you can stop worrying about actually getting the job and can spend your time simply experiencing the interview and trying out different choices for how to field questions. So just get yourself into at least three interviews. After the first interview, sit in your car or on the bus or at a coffee shop and try and remember everything they asked you. Write those questions down!

Now go over how you answered each of those questions and pull apart what you did right and what you did wrong. Start developing the set of questions that you’ll know you get asked and start formulating your answers to them. If you come up with more than one answer for each question, you will never sound stale or rehearsed. I actually have a notebook with all my job stories written down and I re-read them 15 minutes before walking into any interview. Do the same and you will get more job offers.

For most of us when we finally land the job interview, the process almost seems complete and we are just waiting to see what time they want us to start our first day. However, you have to realise that your potential employer will be interviewing a dozen or so equally enthusiastic candidates. What preparation you do now will make the difference as to whether you’re hired or filed.

That’s why job interview coaching is important. You need to start fresh once you have found out that you’ve been offered an interview and start a whole new process to make sure you ace the interview and land the job. Because lets face it, you’ve worked too hard to get the job interview in the first place to just throw all that hard work away by not preparing.

Here are six steps that we think will help you prepare and ace the interview:

First Step – Research

Research relevant information about the company and the way they handle their interviews. Good sources to gather information from are:

Their annual reports Their press releases (go to Google News and type in their company name) “About Us” (or equivalent) section of their website, Anyone you know that works or has worked for them. With this information, you’ll have a better picture about the company and help you prepare for the employer interview questions.

Second Step – Practice

Fifth Step – Communication

Sixth Step – Follow Up

Going for job interview and do not know how to prepare! Well, here are some points which you must consider while going for the job interview. Giving an interview is not any straightforward task. Remember that an interview is not any common conversation, but is an examination to assess you. If you are not prepares then you may not give a good first impression and you will have lost out. You must do good, planned preparation for the interview.

Before going for a job interview, assemble all the information about the employing company. Visit web sites and draw out necessary information about the company. Write down the standard type of questions you will be asked by the interviewer and use them to prepare for your answers. Base answers on facts and around your qualifications. Because the entire result from the interview is dependent on how you answer the questions and how smartly you justify yourself.

Always be prepared to be able to say why you are looking for this job and the reasons that this company stands out for you above others. Then questions about your strengths and weaknesses, what are your best achievements are, what you really want to accomplish as a career, what your experience tells you and many such general questions may be asked. The answers to these types of questions should be enlightening and you must validate your points in details. Point out some examples by which you can best explain your answers. Think about examples that you can point out in advance.

Then get the handbook of company’s terms and conditions. Go all the way through it properly and you can save your time during or just before the interview. Collect the hard evidence of what you have accomplished, which will put you ahead of the others who are competing with you. Make sure you resume or CV is up to date and keep it very clean and striking. Carry your most recent updated resume with you, even if already given to the interviewer. Always carry more than one copy of resume with you in case it is needed.

Try to collect and remember the company relevant issues. Prepare some questions to ask about the company role and related topics. Search for the company’s trade and research company policies. If there are any doubts that spring to mind during reading these then take note and be prepared to ask these at the interview, it will show you are thorough and interested in the job.

Always review your aim and goals, both short and long term. Speak clearly and build a rapport. It is important to be honest during an interview in case you are checked up upon. Inform the interviewer how you plan to achieve your goals. Make sure that you have at least two or three good references, which will put you, one-step ahead of the other candidates. Always have a positive mind set, be passionate and focused. Think of various strategies to deal positively with the flaws you have. Try to get some personality tests. Personality tests shows your merits and weak points, and you can act positively based on the results.

Then at the last minute, dress properly. Have a confident demeanour and dress smartly to maximise your chances of success.
